01 – Temple DIY Kit
01 – Temple DIY Kit puts a buildable bonfire in a box: 3D printed parts, a microcontroller, LEDs, wiring, and a step-by-step guide. Learn to solder, wire, and program your own electronics while you raise a small temple with one glowing purpose. Fire included.
Ships free, usually the next business day.
01 – Temple is a lamp with a living fire inside. It starts with a single spark, builds to a full blaze, and never repeats itself: the animation runs on randomness written into the code. The shape might feel familiar. Picture a meadow in rural Sweden, a festival held once every ninety years, and a yellow wooden temple with one final purpose. This kit contains everything you need to raise that temple on your own shelf. Fire included.
This kit is more than a box of parts. It walks you through building this exact lamp while teaching the skills behind illuminated art: working with LEDs, writing code, 3D printing, wiring, and soldering. What you learn here carries into whatever you make next.
LED Wiring & Soldering – You will learn to solder clean joints and see how the whole circuit connects: strip to strip, strip to microcontroller, and power to the project. Understand the wiring here and you can wire almost anything.
LED Programming & Microcontrollers – You will use FastLED to shape color and motion, then flash the code onto your microcontroller. By the end you understand how a few lines of code turn into a moving flame. For those not interested in writing their own code, the microcontroller comes pre-programmed and ready to burn.
3D Printing – Every 3D printed part comes fabricated and ready to assemble, so you can skip straight to building. Curious about printing your own? The guide walks through the essentials: materials, slicers, and print settings.
While building your own Temple lamp you will learn:
- Cutting and tinning wire and LED strips
- Wiring LED strips
- 3D printing (optional)
- Working with microcontrollers
- Programming LEDs (optional)
- Basic fabrication
No experience required, and no initiation rites. If you get stuck, message me and I’ll walk you through it personally.
